AI in 24h: Health, Education and Business – What Has Changed in the Last Day
November 20, 2024 | by Matos AI
As a leader in the innovation and technology ecosystem, I have been closely following the transformations that Artificial Intelligence has been causing in various sectors. In the last 24 hours, some particularly interesting news caught my attention and I want to share an analysis of them with you.
Let’s start with healthcare, where AI is achieving impressive milestones. A new study has revealed that AI models can identify brain tumors with an accuracy of 85.99%, approaching the effectiveness of human radiologists. This is a fundamental advance that demonstrates how technology can be a powerful ally for healthcare professionals.
In education, an area in which I have a special interest due to my work at Inteli, OpenAI has just launched a free AI training course for teachers. This initiative reflects something I have always defended: the need to democratize access to knowledge about technology and prepare educators for the future.
The market is also responding positively. According to IDC, AI investments are expected to exceed US$632 billion by 2028. As an entrepreneur who has already developed several innovation projects, I can say that these numbers do not surprise me – they confirm a trend that we have already seen taking shape.
An interesting case of social impact that deserves to be highlighted is that of startup Biografia Preta, which is using AI to expand the discussion on black consciousness. This is a perfect example of how technology can be used to promote inclusion and diversity, issues that I have always fought for throughout my career.
However, we also need to be aware of the challenges. As TIM's CEO put it well, AI generates as much fear as it does opportunity. In my experience leading innovation projects, I have learned that the key is to find the balance between harnessing the potential of technology and managing its risks responsibly.
For the entrepreneurs and leaders who follow me, I suggest three points of attention:
- Invest in continuous training – technology evolves rapidly
- Look for practical cases of AI application in your business
- Always keep the focus on social impact and ethics
This is a unique moment for those who work with innovation and technology. As I always say in my lectures and mentoring sessions: it is not about being afraid of change, but rather about being prepared for it and using its potential to generate a positive impact on society.
