At a crucial moment for Brazilian technological development, our country stands out as one of the global leaders in the adoption of generative artificial intelligence. Recent data from a survey conducted by Google and Ipsos reveals a promising scenario, with 54% of Brazilians using AI, surpassing the global average of 48%.

In my more than 25 years working in the technology and innovation sector, I have rarely seen a technology adopted so quickly. Let's analyze what has been happening on the national scene in the last 24 hours.

Brazil at the Forefront of AI

According to the study “Our Life with AI: From Innovation to Application”, which interviewed 21 thousand people in 21 countries, Brazilian optimism regarding AI is remarkable:

  • 65% of Brazilians consider AI promising (vs. 57% globally)
  • 60% expect AI to create more jobs (vs. 49% globally)
  • Confidence in changes in the labor market rose from 62% to 68% in one year

Case Studies and Challenges

THE TIM Brasil demonstrates an interesting practical case, implementing AI for predictive maintenance of its network, achieving 85% of accuracy and generating operational savings of between 17% and 20%.

However, lack of trust is still a significant obstacle for wider adoption. As an innovation consultant, I have observed that this resistance often comes from a lack of understanding about how the technology works and its real benefits.

Emerging Concerns and Risks

A worrying aspect that emerges is the risks associated with the malicious use of AI. Recent cases of deepfakes demonstrate the urgent need for regulation and awareness about the ethical use of technology.

Geopolitical Limitations

New US restrictions on the export of AI chips can significantly impact our technological development. From my experience leading government innovation programs, I know that we need to develop alternatives and strengthen our technological autonomy.

Sector Opportunities

Brazilians identify transformative potential in several sectors:

  • Science (80% Trusted)
  • Medicine (77%)
  • Agriculture (74%)
  • Cyber Security (67%)

Conclusion and Perspectives

As someone who has supported over 10,000 startups and facilitated the raising of over R$1 billion in investments for technology companies in Brazil, I see that we are at a pivotal moment. Brazil is showing maturity in the adoption of AI, but we need to accelerate in critical aspects such as regulation, infrastructure and training.
