This case is emblematic because healthcare is one of the sectors most resistant to full automation, and for good reasons: it involves complex decisions, nuances of communication and, fundamentally, human trust. Yet, in contexts where access to healthcare is limited, such as in rural areas or in countries with a shortage of doctors, systems like this could represent a revolution in access to basic care.
The question is not if AI will replace doctors, but as We will reconfigure the role of healthcare professionals in a world where initial diagnosis and routine follow-up can be partially automated. I see here an opportunity to further humanize the aspects of care that truly require empathy and presence.
