Over the past 24 hours, a series of important news stories about Artificial Intelligence (AI) have caught my attention and deserve a deeper analysis. As someone who has closely followed the evolution of the innovation ecosystem in Brazil, I see a crucial moment of transformation and opportunity.

Let's start with a fundamental fact: second recent research published by Valor Econômico, 41% of companies are still in the early stages of implementing AI. Only 15% have already incorporated the technology into strategic processes, and only 12% use it as a competitive differentiator.

In my experience supporting startups and large companies on their innovation journey, this scenario does not surprise me. The adoption of disruptive technologies always follows a maturity curve, and we are right at the turning point.

Brazil’s Potential as a Global AI Hub

A particularly encouraging piece of news comes from NVIDIA, through its director for Latin America, Márcio Aguiar. He highlights that Brazil has the conditions to become a global hub for data centers, mainly due to our clean energy matrix and strategic geographic position.

This point resonates strongly with my vision. During my time at Start-Up Brasil and coordinating innovation promotion programs, I have always argued that our greatest competitive advantage lies in the unique combination of natural resources, talent and developing digital infrastructure.

The Regulatory Scenario and its Challenges

In the regulatory field, we have important movements. The Senate to vote on Bill 2338/23 next week, which regulates AI in Brazil. As the founder of Dínamo, who actively worked on the construction of the Legal Framework for Startups, I know well the importance of regulation that balances innovation and protection.

It is interesting to observe concrete cases of application of AI in the Brazilian market. C6 Bank, for example, is implementing an AI-powered chat function to improve the customer experience. This is exactly the direction I advocate: using technology to solve real user problems.
